Inspired by a story from the  Mabinogion, a collection of mythical Welsh tales compiled during the medieval period. 

 

The story tells of a woman created by the magicians Math and Gwydion, from flowers of broom, meadowsweet and oak, who was later turned into an owl as punishment.
